Hovercraft Racing Challenge - Athboy Hovercraft Centre
If you are looking for a real adrenaline rush, hover crafting is just for you. This breathtaking experience is available just 1 hr. Drive from Dublin city Centre on a specially prepared water and land track. The Hovercraft vehicle provides an amazing opportunity to fly on the ground, on the water and even in the air and that makes this experience a real must for any hardened petrol head or speed demon!
What is hovercraft racing?
Hovercrafts are small engined ACVs, or Air Cushioned Vehicles, designed to operate both on land and on water. They are easy to learn, but difficult to master. There are no brakes - just the throttle, basic rudder steering and you. At Athboy Hovercraft Centre you can learn how to master the hovercraft. You can fly solo on our water and land track, complete with hairpin turns, water course, splash deck and long straights!
What do I need?
At Athboy Hovercraft Centre we provide full instructions on how to operate our hovercrafts, as well as providing all the necessary safety equipment and advice. However, due to the nature of the activity, we would strongly advise our customers to ensure they are wearing appropriate clothing. Athboy Hovercraft Centre can not be held liable for any damage or soiling to personal belongings.

Group/Spectators
We welcome spectators too but all those under the age of 18, including participants, must be accompanied by an adult. All persons under the age of 18 will need written consent from their parent or legal guardian in order to take part.

Duration
15 Laps of pure fun round our track! Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time. Start time is the agreed time at booking and not your arrival time. Your activity time can not be extended and no reduction in price will be made if you activity time is reduced as a result of your party being late.

Dress Code
All the relevant safety equipment, including overalls and helmet is provided, however, we would advise you to wear adequate and appropriate clothing and footwear, suitable for an outdoor event and appropriate for the time of year and current weather conditions. A change of clothing is also advisable. We will not be held liable for any damaged or soiled personal clothing and we will not be held liable for any cleaning costs associated with any event organised at Athboy Hovercraft Centre.

Weather
Athboy Hovercraft Centre is open in most weather conditions. If in doubt please contact us by telephone prior to travelling. However, you may assume that if we do not contact you that your event will continue as scheduled. We cannot, however, offer a minimum notice of postponement or cancellation to event times.

Other information
Must be 16 or over but all those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. May not be suitable for pregnant women and those with health concerns. If in doubt, please consult your GP regarding suitability. The hovercraft weight limit is 115 kg (18 stone).
